Good sleep makes people happy
FAQs
What is the blanket made from?
Our huggably snuggably soft cellular blankets are woven from organic cotton. That's it - no man made fibres, no irritating chemical treatments - just the finest, softest strands of organic cotton harvested from the fields of our partner farms in India, and woven together into a classic baby blanket.
How big is the cellular blanket?
This organic cotton cellular baby blanket is 75cm wide and 100cm long. We've made it just the right size to tuck into a pram or tightly over a moses basket, bassinet or crib mattress.
Can a baby sleep with a cellular blanket?
Before baby sleep bags came along cellular blankets were the preferred option for baby bedding, and for good reason! The cellular design keeps baby cosy, but allows airflow.
If you use a cellular blanket for baby sleep please follow this guidance:
- Place baby in the 'feet to foot' position, ensuring their feet are at the foot of the cot or crib so they can't slip down.
- Tuck the blanket tightly around the bottom third of the mattress, ensuring it does not cover baby's face at all.
- Dress baby appropriately for the room temperature. Outside of a hospital babies should not wear a hat indoors or to sleep.
- Do not use in combination with a baby sleep bag, baby sleep bags are designed to be used on their own.
How to wash a Folk & Thread Cellular Blanket
You can use a 40° machine wash or hand wash for all Folk & Thread products. It’s not necessary to wash baby products at a higher heat with modern washing detergents.
We do not recommend fabric conditioner for our products.
The best and most ecologically friendly way to dry your baby products is of course to let them dry on the washing line. However, that’s not always possible, so you can use an airer indoors in a warm, ventilated room.
You can also tumble dry your products if you’re in a hurry, but please use a low setting to prevent damage to the fabric or the components of the product.
Are Folk & Thread working with The Lullaby Trust?
We are very proud to be an official partner of The Lullaby Trust, working together to champion their safer sleep advice and help ensure all babies have a safer sleeping environment. Find out more about The Lullaby Trust’s safer sleep advice here, and learn more about our partnership here.
