FAQs
What is the baby sleep bag made from?
Everything we make is from organic cotton. Having worked in the textile industry for so long this was a no brainer for us!
- It is free from toxic chemicals, so is kinder to sensitive baby skin
- Our farmers use natural methods to grow cotton rather than fossil-fuel based fertilisers. This creates healthy soil which stores carbon and combats climate change
- Organic farmers use crop rotation and other skills to control pests and disease. Non-organic farming uses hazardous synthetic pesticides which can damage ecosystems and endanger workers
- Drinking water, rivers and lakes don't suffer from harmful run-off of toxic chemicals, so it's better for local people
- Organic cotton is always grown alongside other crops, allowing farmers to diversify to earn a better living and feed their families from their land
2.5 tog baby sleep bags are lined with a layer of squidgeriffic polyester wadding. It's soft and snuggly, keeps its shape wash after wash and dries quickly.

How to wash a Folk & Thread baby sleep bag
Wash at 40°, tumble dry on low
Make sure that your baby sleep bag is turned inside out and is fully zipped and poppered before putting in the washing machine- ideally with the zipper safely under the zip guard. This means the zipper head will be protected from the washing machine drum.
You can use a 40° machine wash or hand wash for all Folk & Thread products. It’s not necessary to wash baby products at a higher heat with modern washing detergents.
We do not recommend fabric conditioner for our products.
The best and most ecologically friendly way to dry your baby products is of course to let them dry on the washing line. However, that’s not always possible, so you can use an airer indoors in a warm, ventilated room. Just unzip the baby sleep bag and lay or hang it open.
It’s a good idea to turn the product during drying to ensure that both the lining, filling and outer fabrics are thoroughly dry before using again.
You can also tumble dry your products if you’re in a hurry, but please use a low setting to prevent damage to the fabric or the components of the product.
Do not iron 2.5 tog baby sleeping bags with wadded filling as the heat will change the structure and thermo properties of the filling. Our 0.5 and 1 tog sleeping bags can be ironed on a low heat avoiding the zipper and poppers.

Reviews from our product tester Mums
LuciWashed and dried over and over and still looks like new.
I like that you don’t have to unzip fully so stays warm when nappy changes
AliyahSleeping bag is fantastic and the optional reduced length was a great idea
EmmaLiked the position of the zip – didn’t get in the way of breastfeeding , loads of room for breast feeding and washed really well
LucindaThe sleeping bag has been great. It fits well, it’s easy to get on and off. The zip design is good as you can change a nappy without having to take the baby fully out of the sleeping bag
